Angry Birds 2 by mobile giant Rovio is a sequel that meets the height of everyone's expectations. The core of its gameplay remains the same: load the slingshot and throw birds against the evil green pigs tucked away within glass and wood structures. However, almost everything has been revamped. The quality of the graphics has been boosted, especially regarding animations, effects, and level backgrounds. Levels are now set in a path à la Candy Crush Saga, endowing the game with a more linear and goal-pursuing gameplay (and favoring adding new levels in future packages).
In addition, a lot of extras have been introduced: our lovely angry birds are now collectible cards with skills will upgrade as you walk through the path and beat levels. Oh, and by the way, levels might have more than one puzzle now (divided into phases). Daily quests, a limited amount of lives, and packs of gems available for in-apps purchases are Rovio's way to make this new installment profitable.
Revamped graphics, especially regarding effects and animations, multi-phased levels with more than one puzzle, collectible and upgradeable characters, cutscenes, and daily quests are the best of this sequel.
A more childish approach in terms of graphics and gameplay has to coexist with in-app purchases. Parents won't like that. In addition, Angry Birds 2 is more demanding in terms of hardware. It takes longer to load, and it's a battery killer.
