The apps that you download from the market get installed automatically in your device. But, if you download .apk files from other websites, or your friends share it with you, you have to install them manually. Then you have two options: install it by the default app installer or do it with another app installer. If you prefer the second option then appInstaller could be one of your choice.
appInstaller makes a list of your installed apps and give you some information about them: app size, installation date, cache and much more. It shows you those that are system apps/users apps. It allows you to install apps from your SDcard and uninstall them one-by-one or batches of them, in an easy way. What's more, it lets you quick saving apps to your SDcard. appInstaller also allows you to backup/restore your apps one-by-one or your whole list. Actually it seems that this is one of its strongest points.
appInstaller has been developed by Gregory House, an individual developer focused on system tools app.
The question that raises is: is this really necessary to have another appInstaller when Android brings a default one? The answer maybe: yes, because this one includes backup/restore feature. It's true, but we think this is an extra-feature, not the finally purpose of this app.
