Great

"Comicholics, let's get united"

Comics by ComiXology is a good-looking comics-reader which includes a great catalog

There are coming up lots of comics reader for mobile devices, although they seem just a few if we compare them with news or e-books readers. Actually, finding a really good comics reader has become a tough task. However, ComiXology has done its best to launch a comic reader that surpasses most of the others.

It's set in a good-looking HOLO layout. It looks like Google Play with a featured highlighted comics at the top and a a vertical swiping list of other suggestions (by category). You can navigate from “featured” tab to “Just added” (latest) or “Popular” (best rated/most downloaded). You can also see your own library or visit the comic store. Most of the comics are paid although you can find some free too. The only catch: you need to create an account for getting access to the store, otherwise you won't be able to purchase/download comics. Flip pages by swiping, pinch for zooming and set other reading preferences from settings.

In a few words, an app which comics lovers cannot miss.

Developer's original description available here
The largest digital comic library with over 20,000 comics available including over 600 for free. Publishers include Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image, IDW, Archie & many more!
Purchases made here can be read on the web, too, at www.comixology.com.
The only comic reader and store with Guided View Technology, which Wired.com says "solves the problem of reading comics on the small screen."

(In case you were wondering... This app requires the "Coarse
(network-based) location" permission only to help direct you to the nearest comic retailers in your area as part of the "Buy in Print" feature. comiXology respects your privacy, and we do *not* collect or store this sensitive location data! We hope this clears up any concerns you may have regarding permissions.)

I was using this app on my iPhone 4 (8gig) and I was always deleting to make room. Now I'm enjoying it on my 32Gb Nexus 7 and it is amazing!

Edit: it turns out double tapping the panels gives access to guided view again. That could be made more clear but 5 stars anyways

I was skeptical at first, but the smart panels on my Nexus 7 is in some ways better than print!

The app works fine, and I love digital comics. The problem that I have with it seems to be the prices of the older comics, most of wich I can now get from my local comic book shop 3 for 1$.

You really need to put a "my purchased" or "purchased" button in the My Comics section and/or on the comic store front page. It is counterintuitive having the "purchased" selection in the "featured" drop down list. Took me a couple minutes to find it. Nee
