    • Great sound quality
    • Needs better button configuration
    • Poor meny design
    • No close button

    "Ham Radio Operation Turns Digital"

EchoLink for Android gives amateur ham radio operators the ability to connect up with any Echo Link enabled repeater, no matter where in the world they are. This is a great way for ham operators to keep in touch with each other the world over.

Now you can listen over your Bluetooth connection! The app works great on tablets. The color scheme is easy on the eyes and most of the menu functions are easily discovered and utilized. It's got great TX and RX radio quality sound.

It would be nice if the user could make the direct connect button the PTT button. The handset/headset, speaker, or Bluetooth options shouldn't be on a pop-up menu. They are used quite a bit and should be easier to find. Where is the exit/close button?

It keep asking me for my password, I don't have one for my device and so wasn't asked for one. I do, however, have a password on my laptop computer.

I don't want this app to run in the background at all times, that's super power intensive...

Works great on all my Androids except for the Kindle Fire 7 5th Gen. Doesn't want to connect with hardly anything without using a public proxy on the Fire. Even then it disconnects and reconnects to different proxies. I hope to find a solution but have plenty of other Android devices to use. I plan on dedicating one to Echolink transceiver use. A lot of hams consider it as "cheating" because of no radio use. I call BS. The way I look at it is the internet was started by hams, not Al Gore, and now it has come full circle. It is just another mode of operation. And a damn good one. Thanks for the app!
