Open Garden shares your Internet connection with your laptop, tablet or phone. No root access is required.

It requires bluetooth and to be installed on all devices, such as your Android phone, laptop or tablet. Once installed devices automatically connect.
Your laptop or Android tablet can now access mobile Internet coming from your phone anywhere they have no Wi-Fi.
No buttons to press and nothing to configure, everything is done automatically once the app is installed on all devices.
When more devices running Open Garden are nearby, they automatically interconnect to create a peer-to-peer mesh network.
To detect nearby peers, we use location services. That includes GPS, if no other location service is available and functioning.
Connections can also be initiated manually using NFC - just tap the devices together!
The Open Garden app is completely free.

Please bring back version 1 of opengarden as a separate app on the market! I can't get version 2 to work on any of my devices, but version 1 worked beautifully! Also stop the windows app from auto updating.

To the complainers, the connection speed is because it uses bluetooth which has never been a fast means of data transfer compared to WiFi tethering, If you want it faster, root and use WiFi Tether. Also, if your using a Mac from 2009, stop complaining a

installed on my android and on mac. Had my macbook pro since 2009 without a single problem. I installed open garden and my mac crashed continuously especially when i switched between login profiles. I would get this black screen that I've never seen befor

I give it five for the simple fact that I wanted to turn my phone into a hotspot. I have an LG esteem and I rooted it. That's the only way I got my phone to work. Root may not be required for some phones but it is for mine.
