Speakforme

This is the full version of Speakforme - an AAC (Augmentative and alternative communication) application.

The idea for this application came after a family friend suffered a stroke. This left him unable to speak, and his mobility was severely reduced. I did notice however, that he retained full motion in his right hand. This application was designed to enable him to live a somewhat more comfortable life.

He died before he had the chance to use it, so I worked on refining it - the result being what you see here.

I tried to make the simplest interface possible to make this as easy to use as I could. It uses Androids build-in speech synthesis functionality, and allows users to quickly navigate to one of many options. There is no need for complicated gestures and every option is a few clicks away.

This version allows the user to modify, add and delete options allowsing for a truely personalised experience.
