Imagine you're in the street and you have a smartphone with Internet connection via 3G and a laptop. There's no a close WiFi hotspot. You need to edit and send some reports that you cannot do with the phone, or at least you cannot in a fast and comfortable way. Well, if you're a root user, here comes a solution: tethering.
Wireless Tether basically use your phone as a hotspot which means that you can use your mobile connection (4G/3G/2G) or even the Wifi connection established by the handset to connect your laptop, tablet, netbook or any other device.
WiFi-tethering creates an adhoc network on most devices. It's as easy as click on the central button of the app and click it back to stop it whenever you want. The WiFi-Encryption will be 128-bit and WPA/WPA2 on supported devices. You can set the access control by MAC Address, change channel and SSID as well as the transmition power. You can tether also via bluetooth, set LAN options and monitor other useful info.
The app really works, it establishes connection fast and it's quite stable. The interface is quite sober, but it's highly configurable. And, above all, what matters in this kind of apps is if they're reliable... and it is. Recommendable.
This program enables wifi AND bluetooth-tethering (PAN) for "rooted" handsets.
Clients (your laptop for example) can connect via wifi or bluetooth and get access to the internet using the mobile connection (4G, 3G, 2G) or (in case you are using bluetooth) the wifi connection which is established by the handset.
Wifi-tethering creates a so called adhoc (peer-to-peer) network on most devices. Infrastructure-mode is suppported for some devices – including the HTC Evo for instance.

I have been using this app (3.2-beta 2 and previous versions) for over 18 months. Installed it on my rooted Sprint Samsung Epic 4G without a problem. It has allowed my to drop my cable internet service and I now save $40+/month. Easy to install. . . it
