It's a Word search. I bet you've done one before, although maybe not since grade school. It's a classic time-waster of the lexical sort. Find the words, man. Sometimes they're backwards: trippy. Swap up your difficulty level and choose whether or not to opt for an optional word bank. Leaderboards tell you who's boss.
Various difficulty levels, various categories. Simple and lightweight.
Leaderboards seem inaccurate. Nothing new here.
Original review from Feb 17, 2014:
There are folks out there who just love them some alphabet soup. I see them on the metro, huddled over their beloved booklets, ever-seeking, and sometimes, finding. App Drac's Word Search is for the more technologically advanced of the bunch, offering a digitized version of the classic lexical hunt.
Select from seven categories: animals, kids, historical figures, cities of the world, countries of the world, American presidents, or trademarks. Set the difficulty (Easy, Medium, or Difficult) and whether or not to have a word bank to help you out. Then it's off to the races! Highlight all the words you can find from within the grid of seemingly random letters.
Apart from English, the app's available in many languages: Catalan, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. It's lightweight and runs well.
The leaderboards should reflect who's been able to find all the words the quickest, but I don't buy that "Carmen_69" was able to solve the puzzle in 0:01 seconds. It would be great if the boards represented actual scores.
If you're looking for a basic alphabet soup app, App Drac's Word Search is a decent choice.
