Frog Croaker is a free application which uses the latest geo-location technology to showcase Frog Species found in the Namoi Catchment (North West NSW).

The Frogs of the Namoi are colourful, loud and often display very unusual habits. Frogs however are under threat from Chytrid Fungus, habitat loss and other pressures. Frog Croaker is an interactive reference tool which helps the user learn about these wonderful creatures.

What does it do?
Frog Croaker catalogues all 27 species of frogs in the Namoi Catchment. The geo-location technology simplifies identification by locating the user in the catchment then matching that location with the home range of different frog species.

Frogs often respond to the call of their own species. By clicking on the call button, the unique frog call is sounded to the frog and if it replies it helps identify which species of frog you have found.

Information about each Frog comes with high resolution images with capacity to zoom into all identifying features.

Tell us about your frogs
Send a message about your sightings. You can even take a photo and email it to Frog Croaker. You will be doing your bit to help scientists learn more about frogs in the Namoi Catchment.

Frog Croaker was developed by Namoi Catchment Management Authority with the assistance of ecologist and resident to the Namoi, Phil Spark of North West Ecological Services.

What can I say? Great job. It's about time we get some quality apps in the app store. I love it, but more importantly, my wife loves it. And it is helping us to care for our property a little more by knowing what (or who) is out there.

An excellent summary, good detailed info and never had a problem in more than a month of use, including most use outside Namoi area. Needs to be a template for a whole-NSW version. Others having difficulties may not know that 'show me some frogs' is a 'go

I don't live in the namoi area, but it helped me identify some frogs and croaks in my backyard!
