Let your kids learn how to add and subtract with dollars

Marley's Math Farm is an educational game for kids that helps them get familiar with numbers and math, that is, learning how to add and subtract. It has an original approach: all the questions are related to dollars so the kid will be using virtual coins and learning something that will be useful in his everyday life.

The gameplay works with rewards, so if they get their answers correct, they will be able to spend virtual coins on animal prizes and have fun with them. The game is especially addressed to people living in the US or using US dollars, otherwise it won't be that useful. Of course, if you're planning to travel there with your family, you can also have your kid practise with the app. Fortunately there's an upcoming update that will allow to choose other currencies.

Flying Pants Studios is the developer of Marley's Math Farm free version and the premium one. The free version gives access to three of the five levels and two of the 15 animal prizes. Tested in Samsung Galaxy Tab, the design was a little chaotic and some buttons overlapped with each other, so this should be fixed in order to improve the app's usability.

Developer's original description available here
Marley's Math Farm is an educational game for kids that teaches how to do math using money. Kids will learn to count, add and subtract with dollars and coins over five different levels of difficulty. The game includes a fun shop that awards players for getting questions right by giving them currency to spend on animal prizes. The shop helps reinforce the lessons in the game, and with 15 different animals to buy there are lots of reasons for kids to keep practicing their skills with money.

The questions in Marley's Math Farm are based on curriculum for elementary school students in NYC, and the app was tested in real NYC classrooms. The app aims to help students master money values, improve math skills, and ultimately improve test scores and help in class.

Right now the app has questions using only US Currency. Future updates may include support for other currencies.

The free version of this app gives unlimited access to 3 of the 5 levels, and 2 of the 15 animal prizes. The full version can be purchased for $0.99 and includes all levels and animals.
