Pocket Planets is the largest 3D Solar System Simulator for Android

Interested in Astronomy? You got to the right place. Pocket Planets takes planets, asteroids, dwarfs, stars and any other celestial object and put them into your mobile device.

Pocket Planets recreates in 3D graphics the Solar System and all the relevant heavenly bodies on it. The best way to learn is to see it yourself and that's what you can do with this app. Zoom in/out, turn, change location (from Earth to Mars in seconds), check out distances from objects in km and miles as well as in AV, or learn more about planets' moons.

We recommend you to take a glance at the tutorial you'll find first time you launch the app. Follow the guide to know by heart how to move, zoom, changes views and use the camera, displaying and moving timeslider, change location and make the most of other features like the Enzyclopedia.

Actually, Enzyclopedia is one of its plus points: it provides useful info about the object you requested, like radius, mass, orbit rotation length. What's more, there's also additional info (only available in the paid version). From settings you can set your preferences regarding info displayed, orbit, labels, visibility, lightning and many more. Pocket Planets amusingly teaches you what your professor couldn't in their boring classes. Great app.

    Excellent, would be even better if the dollar symbols were replaced with an artist's impression of the UN pictured moons and dwarf planets
