Renewable comparison is an Open Educational Resource created by FusedWorks - http://www.jisc.ac.uk/ - funded project ‘Renewable, Environmental and Construction Technology Open Resource – REaCTOR, this application has been created alongside 7 others:

* Photovoltaics
* Solar thermal
* Heat pumps
* Rainwater harvesting
* Greywater re-use
* Biomass
* Wind energy
The resources are available on stand-alone platforms and on mobile devices. Each resource is free to use and can be used as teaching and learning support material.

The Renewable Comparison resource presents the key renewable technologies - examined in detail in the other resources - in a manner that allows easy assessment and comparison in both a domestic and a commercial environment. Issues covered include: the structural changes required to implement the technology, the environmental and visual impact of the technology, the regulatory issues involved, and installation standards and relevant building services. All the technologies are presented in a fully-interactive, user-controlled 3D environment and include: solar thermal, biomass, heat pumps, solar panels and wind turbines.

Resource based on reference materials gathered in co-operation with educational and commercial sectors in UK (National Skills Academy Environmental Technologies, EU Skills, HE Academy Discipline Lead, Leeds College of Building and many others).

User manual for the application is available at the project website under the section "Resources".
