    Description

WaniKani (http://www.wanikani.com) is a kanji learning web app that
uses radicals, mnemonics, and SRS (Spaced Repetition Software).

This (unofficial) app for Android is a front end of this web site, so in order
to use it you MUST subscribe to WaniKani first and obtain an API key.

If features a small dashboard, an integrated review page (with a custom IME),
an item browser. It also shows a notification icon as reviews become available.
It tracks your progress and can plot the number of items learned, or the number
of reviews that you are going to have during the day.
It is particularly suited for small handsets.

I use both WaniKani apps, but over the years primarily used this one, because it has more functionality and is more lightweight. I have decided to fully swap to the other app as it seems this one is not supported anymore (not searchable in Play store), but thought I'd leave a review anyway! Thanks for your work.

Wish it had a reading>meaning option but still worth 5 stars

I looove this companion api app for WaniKani. It's super helpful to be able to utilize the SRS system while I'm not at my computer so I can stay on top of my reviews right as they are available. I've tried similar apps, but this is by far the most useful one for me. Thank you so much for making it!

WaniKani is amazing and I love this app. Only suggestion would be to have a setting to enable auto-playing the audio for the reading when doing reviews. Other than that, no issues.

Font change function does not work correctly. If you swipe to the right screen, the kanji is displayed in the font chosen. However, during review and during lessons, the kanji displays using system font. This is not good because on android phones, due to Han unificaton, the font displays simplified chinese rather than japanese (hence the need for a working font changing fuction). Most notably, 直.

I've been studying Japanese off and on for months, this has kept me engaged and learning better than anything else.
