Arabian Nights is a beautiful collection of stories from Persia, Arabia, India, and Egypt. It is also known as ‘The Thousand and One Nights’ collection of stories, compiled over hundreds of years. These stories are narrated by a legendary queen named Scheherazade and are mostly of Ali Baba, Aladdin, and Sindbad.
The first of the stories from Arabian Nights dates back to the 800s and since then these have become popular mainly in the western countries. Further to that many new stories were added to the collection and children all over the world enjoyed listening to them.
Some of the stories of The Nights, particularly "Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp", "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" and "The Seven Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor", while almost certainly genuine Middle-Eastern folk tales, were not part of The Nights in Arabic versions, but were interpolated into the collection by Antoine Galland and other European translators.
