With BMW Connected, BMW drivers can safely and easily access general and vehicle-related functions during, before and after making a journey with their BMW. This requires a BMW vehicle with a production date of July 2013 or later, equipped with the special feature 'Apps' or 'ConnectedDrive Services' (varies according to model and market). The following models, which were also produced after July 2013, are excluded: 1 Series Convertible, 1 Series Coupé, 3 Series Convertible (model from 2010), X1 (model from 2009), X5 (Model from 2006), X6 (model from 2008) and Z4 (model from 2009).
    For compatible smartphones, see

To use a BMW Connected app in your BMW, connect the smartphone to the car using either the snap-in adapter or the USB connection in the centre console, and follow the instructions from the connection assistant, which you will find in the Connected Drive menu.

    Current functionality:

    Facebook & Twitter
Displays the latest status messages, personal favourites, and community trends in your car. Moreover, pre-defined texts which are able to access current vehicle information can be sent during the journey.

Displays calendar entries in your car. Enables you to call meeting-participants should you need to. Appointment details can be read out through the audio system.

    Wiki local
Discover interesting Wikipedia articles relevant to the sights and localities in your destination region..

Access the latest news at any time from your RSS news feeds..

    Audio player
Access the music library in your smartphone through your BMW.

    ECO PRO analyser
Rates your driving style and gives you advice as to how to drive even more efficiently. The ECO PRO Analyser is not supported by the following models: all BMW M and BMW i models, and BMW models without the ECO PRO mode.

    Last mile navigation
Transfers your navigation destination and the position data of your car to your smartphone and continues your navigation even after you have left the vehicle. Makes it easy to find your car when returning to it at your destination.
The application is displayed in the car in the language configured for the vehicle.
An Internet connection is required. This can incur costs (for example due to roaming) in accordance with the contract concluded between the customer and the network operator. Please observe national requirements and conditions specific to the country you are in.
Restricted functionality is possible in the event of insufficient data transfer speed and with volume-based bandwidth restrictions of the network operator. Moreover, it is possible that selected functions based on services supplied by third-party providers will not be available at all times or may be subject to change. The specific conditions of these providers must be observed.
For the aforementioned reasons, BMW is unable to warranty unrestricted compatibility and functionality of your mobile device in combination with the vehicle interface.

This app requires the following Android authorisations:
Required for location-based functions such as Last Mile and Wiki Local. Last Mile guides you to your navigation after you have left your vehicle. Wiki Local shows how far you are from different POIs (points of interest).
    Read calendar:
Needed to display your smartphone calendar in your vehicle.
    Read contacts:
Allows you to call meeting-participants and to post your last call to Facebook.
    Write to memory:
Required in order to save data, e.g. Facebook user images.
Reads out the Bluetooth address to enable USB audio communication with the vehicle.
    Prevent standby mode:
Enables problem-free USB communication during the journey.
    Read network and Wifi status:
Allows quality checks of Internet connection.
For further details, see the privacy statement for the app.

At first I thought I wasn't using it correctly as it was so useless, but unfortunately, that's all there is to it.

Doesn't work at all. Wish a zero rating was possible. My car just says connect the usb which I did. Pretty disappointed in a premium car maker who seems to have a pretty old, unfinished, non functional app.

Serious piece of garbage. Tried it on multiple cars and multiple phones. I will never get an apple iPhone, so I hope bmw doesnt think people will make the jump for this stuff to work. Because i will make the jump, just to an other car brand. All I want is spotify on my car, which works on my gfs VW and my aftermarket receiver in my 2003 Toyota. No go on a 2014 m235 or a 2017 440.......

A Toyota Corolla is packed with more tech that works better. Turns me off from the brand will start spending money elsewhere. I'm sure Merc and Audi do a better job.
