Natalie Hershlag (Jerusalem, Israel, June 9, 1981), known artistically as Natalie Portman is an Israeli-American actress. She debuted in film in the French film Léon (1994), where he played the role of an orphan who is rescued by a murderer for hire. In the 1990's played several leading roles in films like Beautiful Girls and Anywhere but Here, before he was selected to give life to the character of Padme Amidala in Star Wars. In 1999, while working on the filming of Star Wars, he entered Harvard University in the Psychology course and graduated in 2003.1
In 2001 he participated in the play The Seagull Russian writer Anton Chekhov, 2 which premiered at the Public Theater in New York.3 In 2005, for his performance in the drama Closer was awarded a Golden Globe for Best Actress and was nominated for an Oscar in the same category. For his starring role in V for Vendetta shaved his head and learned to speak with a British accent, his performance earned him a Saturn Award for Best Actress. Later he played the lead role in the historical film Goya's Ghosts (2006) and The Other Boleyn Girl (2008). In May 2008 he became the youngest member of the jury of the 61st Cannes.4 Festival the same year made her directorial debut Eve in the short film, which premiered at the 65th edition of International Film Festival in Venice. 5
In 2011 for her performance in Black Swan protagonist was a winner of an Academy Award for Best Actress, a Golden Globe for best actress in a drama, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress and a BAFTA award for Best actress.
