Hail To The Chief
Bio of Chiefalone
Early on, Anthony “Chiefalone” Turner was intrigued by music. Fascinated by “Yo MTV raps”, Chief found his self lost in the new art form that was sweeping the nation. Also influenced by Micheal Jackson legacy, he would go on the write his first rap at 11. Lunch time was crazy in the lunch room, he and friend Cris would go back and forth freestyling and sharing verses. Rythmically tapping beats on the table with the intensity of the artists they idolized, they would then go further into the journey of artistry they adorned.
The age of 18 came quick. The concept of being just an artist in the music business wasn’t in his plans. Inspired by Jay-z’s Roc-A-Fella Records, Chief started a company called “The Faculty” with friends Cris and Red. They would go on to record until forming a group called “The Swagga Boyz” with Mally The Martian, Cuntry and Red. The group tore up the mid-west and caught the attention of Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men. He would go on to sign a deal with Soul Chemistry Projects, Shawn’s imprint. Over time Chief would develop and hone is skills to become one of the best lyricist in his city, gaining him respect from every side of town. Chiefalone was also known to have the same writing style as Jay-z, in which didn’t envolve any writing at all. He wrote his lyrics in his head.
After his situation with Shawn, Chief would then go on to start a side project with Mally based on the concept of 80’s music called “The EX’’. With synth heavy sounds, crazy snares and witty drum patterns. They went on to pick up a following and gain momentum creating their genre of music. He then caught interest of M.I.S. Entertainment, headed by Garcia Vegas and Jahsim “Jah” Wright. With the experience in management the M.I.S. had, Chief seen his future brighter than ever. He recently released “2255” with The EX. He is slated to release his solo album entitled “Chieledo” early 2010. Chiefalone is definitely a force to be reckoned with. His legacy is present and future.
