About Professor X
Charles Xavier had a vision of a world where humans and mutant could live together and benefit from each other strengths. Xavier tried to achieve this by promoting the peaceful affirmation of mutant rights, facilitating the co-existence of mutants and humans, protecting mutants from humans, protecting humans from the evil mutants such as Magneto. His school for higher learning helped him reach out to young mutants and help mold them into responsible mutants who only used their powers for the benefits of all mankind. His relationship with the member of hi school and its staff is later strained by his need to manipulate them to serve his purposes.
His is often seen as an advocate for mutant rights and sought after for his thought on various mutant issues that exist in comics outside of the X-Men. Early on in the series, the X-Men almost never act without the permission or leadership if Xavier.
Charles is seen to have a dark side in certain stories in the comic. This is seen during the Onslaught story line. Onslaught is created when Charles allows himself to succumbs to this darker side. He lets himself go too far against his enemy, Magneto and erases his mind.
Later, Xavier shows that his manipulative and has many secrets that are kept from his team. His "Xavier Protocol" files are found by the X-Men, revealing his plans to kill any one of the X-Men, including himself, should there ever be a need to. Xavier also continues to experiment and test Danger Room, even after he discovers that it has become sentient.
