Application is a great way to measure the number of steps and kilometers walked. This may motivate you to move more. I created this application for personal use but then i thought to share it with you all and named it Dr. Strides. I hope this helps you too.
Application has Start and Stop button. You can't go wrong - there is Reset button too.
Dr Strides uses Accelerometer a feature of Android phones to detect strides. As a matter of fact there could be some differences in strides count. But overall you will get an approximate idea of the strides and distance walked in both kilometers and meters.
To get the health benefits, try to walk for at least 30 minutes as briskly as you can most days of the week. The recommended number of steps accumulated per day to achieve health benefits is 10,000 steps or more.

Note: walk with your hands swinging forward and backward - hands must cross the elbow height.
