Ideal Weight is an extremely simple application that works as a BMI calculator. The instructions couldn't be simpler: slide your finger over the numbers to select your weight and height and see how the numbers above show your BMI as you move your fingers. The result will be shown inmediately: are you overweight? Obese? Moderate thin?
This is a quick, straight-forward application that works really well and presents no problems. The results seem to be pretty reliable and it's a good way to know where you're standing.
The ad is quite annoying and we find the app way too simple. For example, there could be some advice and recommendations for every type of person. Otherwise, a user might read the result and think: Ah, ok. Anyway, don't change the mechanics: they're great.
Original review from March 07, 2012:
If you go by wondering if you're in your right weight, you can easily check it with Ideal Weight (BMI) application. This app calculates your body mass index and lets you know your status.
It's really easy to use: you just need to swipe your finger over the measures tapes to enter your weight (bottom) and height (above the weight) and then the numbers will change and it will indicate your BMI, your Ideal weight range and the result: Severe thinness, moderate thinness, mild thinness, good weight, overweight, Obese class I, Obese class II and finally Obese class III.
You can use imperial and metric units and the method that the app uses makes it easier and more comfortable to change the numbers and calculate it instantly. mmapps mobile is the developer of this extremely useful tool for checking your BMI and knowing if your weight is the appropriate for your height. Be sure not to get obsessed over it, because it's not healthy either.
