Having allergy to gluten is frustrating enough. The Gluten Free Scanner works simply and fast, using your mobile phone camera to scan the barcodes already found on the products you buy.
We use the largest database of food and drink products available in the US, to detect the presence of gluten. This database includes over 700,000+ products and growing. A team of dietitians, nutritionists and researchers take care of the accuracy of this information.
Every scan will be analyzed on three levels, to provide greater information and protection:
- The product is gluten free.
- The product can contain gluten. The app shows the list of ingredients (allergens).
- The product is not gluten free. The app shows the list of ingredients.
This enables you to make a more informed decision as to whether or not to try the product.
We have plans for new features in the future and always welcome your suggestions.

Dev emailed me directly to say database still being built and being added to all the time. Could be a great app in time. Will reload and see how it goes. Valuable app if developed.

You should add a feature that you can report a product that it can't find in the database with picture and all.

It's got more than 700000 items in its database, which is awesome. It works for me all the time. Bugs are fixed fast.

Does not work. When I scan a product it sends me to a blank page.

Works some days and not other days. Today it doesn't show anything when you scan something. FYI I scanned Doritos chips and nothing shows up.

This app is useless in the UK ot doesn't seem to have any of our brands on the database. It would be really really useful if there was a UK version!
