Lightweight pedometer app using the hardware step-sensor for minimal battery consumption.
This app is designed to be running all the time without having any impact on your battery life! It uses the hardware step detection sensor of the Nexus 5, which is already running even when not using any pedometer app. Therefore the app does not consume any additional battery drain. Unlike other pedometer apps, this app does not track your movement or your location so it doesn't need to turn on your GPS sensor (again: no impact on your battery).

Sign in with your Google+ account to unlock achievements and compete with others in the leaderboards!
The app also provides a DashClock extension and a widget.

FAQ:
• Do not use any task killer if you want the app to work
• Achievements are granted the day after meeting the requirements
• I can not implement Pebble support at the time as Pebble is still unable to ship their product to Germany

Pedometer is open source: https://github.com/j4velin/Pedometer
Pedometer uses the 'HoloGraphLibrary' by Daniel Nadeau (https://bitbucket.org/danielnadeau/holographlibrary/wiki/Home)

Before latest upgrade this was a simple app that did it's job perfectly. Now it constantly tries to connect with play games. Also now it's prone to omitting a day or two from memory.

The count seems to stop working sometimes unless I reboot but maybe this is a fault with the pedometer

I have not found another pedometer app that works as seamlessly as this one, while also providing 95% accuracy in tracking. The ability to adjust step size to ensure proper measurement has been extra nice. I haven't used the achievements and social features so cannot speak to those.

Why are there decimals in the numbers, and how do I get rid of the cm and km crap?

The widget doesn't seem to update correctly so it's just a shortcut to the app effectively but it does seem to be counting steps and not using much power.

Doesn't seem as accurate anymore. Can you add the ability to track steps on an hourly basis too?
