A workout app, whether you believe in zombies or not

Zombies, Run is the most successful fitness app so far, and here's its first spin-off, prequel, you name it, with the only goal to prepare you to run 5 kilometers (3 miles). It's thought that if you're able to run such a distance in a reasonable time, your chances of surviving the first day of a zombie outbreak raise 32%, which seems a good reason to be fit unless you prefer to be food (best pun today!). It also helps your heart and lungs.

Either way, this app is designed for even those who haven't ever run a mile, yes, you who ride the car to go to the grocery next block. And it's really fun. Give it a go, and give a go to yourself by the way.

Once you are a little bit more prepared, run to Zombies Run!

You’re Runner 5, a vital member of one of the last outposts of humanity at Abel Township. During 25 workouts, you’ll be trained to help find supplies and protect the town from the ever-encroaching horde of the shambling dead, in a story written by award-winning novelist Naomi Alderman. You’ll learn about the characters, and you’ll have a vital mission of your own to train for and complete. Once your training is complete, you’ll be in the perfect place to continue the story as the hero in “Zombies, Run!”

Everything about Zombies, Run! 5k Training is designed for beginner runners: clear and detailed workout instructions, a gentle learning curve, and importantly, we don’t make any zombies chase you until you’re ready!

Choose your own custom music playlists before you start running: the story unfolds in during your tracks through a series of dynamic radio messages and voice recordings.

We integrate fully with our free online ZombieLink service, so you can check your running stats and view and share your maps online, all in a beautiful and easy-to-use interface! Plus you can export your runs to Runkeeper via ZombieLink.

Zombies, Run! 5k Training takes place between Mission 1 and Mission 2 of Season 1, so it’s a fantastic way to experience 24 all-new missions about how Runner 5 first trained up with Sam, Doctor Myers, and the rest of Abel Township to become a valued Runner. (But if you’re looking to find out what happens after Zombies, Run!’s epic cliffhanger, you’ll need to wait for Season 2...)

People, quit complaining. Once you figure out how to properly set up this app it's extremely addictive. The hardest problem I had was to search for and install Winamp. Once I did this the music works perfectly. I AM NOT a runner type but after purchasing and running the first two workouts I will complete this and buy the Zombies, Run app. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a zombie fan and/o

138MB?! What for?! That's ridiculous, I can't install this on my phone.

Fantastic app, training program, and story! I thought I had good endurance before downloading it; but four weeks ago I could have barely run from one end of my street circle to the other. Now, after four weeks, it's no problem to keep going around. If you want to start running and don't really have a motivation, this is a great place to start. I know I will be buying the regular version at the end

The story is great so far and I enjoy the pacing and Playlist integration. I don't like how minimal the app is. The "base" and everything else seems to be online. I tried visiting the site on my phone but it isn't very phone compatible and freezes often. The main reason I gave it 3 stars is because the mileage is terrible. I traveled under 3 miles and even though this app supposedly tracks GPS it

Entertaining... Easy to run to and super helpful training tool for me. If I had one issue it is that whatever your playlist is when you start is what you get. Have to reset the settings for the app to get the updated playlist. A playlist refresh button would be great. That way when I add a song it mixes it in with the rest of the playlist. That alone is the only reason for the 4 star rating
