The Guangzhou Air Quality and Consular Information App is designed to assist and inform American citizens living in or visiting south China. The app conveniently brings same day air quality PM 2.5 readings from the US Consulate’s air monitor on Shamian island in Guangzhou, China. We expect hourly readings, seven days a week, will be provided by May22.The app also provides contact information, office hours, and other details for people who need to report a missing passport or apply for a new passport. Information on visa procedures, notarial services, reports of birth abroad is also provided.

The app also provides environmental protection themed content – local blogs, a “this week in environmental history” section and classic public service announcements from the 1970s.

Please note: The air monitor will, from time to time be taken offline to undergo routine maintenance. Always check the date stamp underneath the air quality reading and our website for announcements if you feel you are not receiving same day information.
