Suyambu Arulmigu Adhiparasakthi temple is located in the town called MelMaruvathur, which is 92 kms from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, India.
The place where the Temple stands today has more than 2000 years of history. This place is known as Siddhar Peetam ("Siddhar" in Tamil language means enlightened or evolved souls. "Peetam" means throne. Thus Siddhar Peetam means The Throne of Evolved Souls or Great Spiritual Masters/Gurus) where 21 Siddhars are laid in Jeeva Samaadhi.
The basic principle at Melmaruvathur Siddhar Peetam is "One Mother, One Humanity", means the whole human race is one and all the human beings who inhibit this vast earth are children of Mother Goddess and there is no distinction among human beings - be it race, religion, creed, community, caste or even gender
The unique feature at the temple is that the Divine Mother AdhiParasakthi transmigrates into Arulthiru Bangaru Adigalar thereby promoting spirituality and devotion. Arul Thiru Bangaru Adigalar is called by his devotees as AMMA(means Mother) and has been accepted as the spiritual guru.
The charitable trust - Adiparasakthi Charitable Medical Educational and Charitable Trust (ACMEC) was founded by Thiru Adigalar in 1978. The trust in its broadest perspective dedicates itself to the welfare of society at large by imparting Educational, Medical, Cultural and Social Services under the guidance and directives of His Holiness Arulthiru Adigalar
