The present day ship’s bell clock evolved from a crude sand clock dating back to the time of Columbus. Used for navigational purposes, the ship’s is also used to regulate the sailors' duty watches. Unlike a regular clock, the strikes of the bell do not correspond to the number of the hour. Instead, there are eight bells, one for each-half hour of a four-hour watch.

It actually is as quirky as the W&P on my boat. Sometimes chimes 7 minutes or so late, sometimes double strikes.

When I first installed this app it worked fine.Then it stopped chimeing.I uninstalled & reinstalled a few times(including before I wrote this)& still no chime.I really like this app,the chime is very nice.I did notice that the chimes were comming later &

For some unknown reason it stopped working. Sad, it had a very good sound.

I have tried this app on 3 different phones, but cannot get it to run in the background. Runs fine when it is on the main screen, but does not work if I have any other app running in the foreground.
