Expert's Review

"Make a playlist mixing videos and songs"

Reviewed by / Jun 20, 2011

Meridian Media Player Autonomy is a video/music player with some interesting features

Meridian Media Player scans your phone to identify those media files you've installed in your SDcard. Then you can manage those files separately: there's a video and a music tab. The songs will be sorted by artist, album, gnre, playlist, writer or all songs. It supports ID3 editing. the video player supports .srt (subtitles files). But the most interesting features of this app is the "PlayQ" (or Play Queue), that's it, a common playlist for all media files (videos and songs). What's more, it allows you to play a video as music, for your music-videos.

You can go to the "Toolkit" tab to re-scan SDcard and keep your media files databased updated. Searching and finding your media files is quite easy thanks to its folder browser and index browsing. Besides that, the player is high-configurable from preferences.

This is the free version with ads and limited features. If you want to remove ads and get some extra features like LRC compatibility or PC sync, just upgrade to the paid version $2.99

Meridian Media Player Autonomy has been developed by Romulus Urakagi Ts'ai (Sais Workshop), an emerging developer who has already launched some music-related apps on the market.

There are lots of music and video players for Android. What MMMA offers is both in just one app, and some added value features. It's worth, despite its catches.

But yet not in the league of PowerAmp and Neutron, the sound starts good but gets muffled at high volumes.

I've been using meridian for a few years now and it's the best player I've found including poweramp. It's easier to use when at the gym and the configurable gesture actions are great for when you are running because it makes it easy to switch tracks etc... Also the gui is clean and fairly intuitive.
