"Tag your life and discover new things"

Reviewed by / Nov 08, 2011

Discover new music, videos and pictures via tags

Eye-C Taglists is an Android app that enables the user to discover and play videos and pictures from many sources like YouTube, Picasa Facebook or your personal selection. The main idea is to create a new playlist (here called Taglist). You just need to add a tag to any video, song or picture to build a taglist (which combines items from multiple sources) and see what your friends' tags to navigate into their personal tastes and broaden your horizons.

The app also lets the playlist play in many other devices, not only in your Android device and includes a complete Menu with several options such as listing the playlists by tags, browsing your friends or the timeline, searching for wahtever you want and a settings pannel to make it more customized.

Eye-C Taglist was developed by Eyecon Resources and it's an interesting new kind of social network for playlists, which can end up being a success if people starts using it and connecting it to Facebook. The design is pretty clean, it could be better but it's decent and appropriate to the app. Download and start discovering via your favorite tags!

Developer's original description available here
Called "automagical" by Gizmodo, Taglists™ lets you create and share playlists that mix free music, videos, and photos from multiple places, including Facebook, YouTube, Picasa, and SoundCloud.

- Create a Taglist by tagging songs, videos, and photos with the same hash-tag, like #inthedark (See #inthedark here: http://eye-c.tv/twv)

- Share Taglists on Twitter and Facebook automatically, and let friends add to your playlist to build your own shared channel that others can watch on any computer

- Play Taglists on your Android phone or use Airplay or DLNA to play them on connected TV, A/V receivers, iPod docks, stereos, Apple TV and more.

Tech Specs (the geeky stuff)
Eye-C plays on your Android phone with an OS Version higher than 2.1. It also plays on other screens and speakers using both Airplay and DLNA standards, which means it can play back on devices including A/V receivers from Pioneer, Denon, Yamaha, Sony and more, connected TVs from Samsung, LG, and Panasonic, set top boxes including WD (Western Digital) and Popcorn Hour, as well as Xbox 360 (with Windows Media Player enabled. Make sure it's on and THEN look for other players. When it works, give us 5 stars – this was hard!).

Note: Taglists now supports Airport Express on Android versions greater than 2.1. It doesn't work well on some Android tablets or some HTC Android phones (Eris and Hero) – we're working hard to correct this, and we expect improvements in the next few weeks.

Upload photos from your Android phone using Taglists, and you can immediately add them to taglists and share them to Facebook or Twitter. Click Browse inside the app to see the photos in your gallery, and upload right from there. Great for adding to event taglists!

Wants you to login to Facebook. Won't work workout it, giving connection error. Doesn't use the phone's Facebook credentials. I suspect it is a scam to steal your account info.
