VLC Direct Pro Free arrives to Android
If you are looking for some media player capable of opening all kinds of files, there you go. VLC Direct Pro Free is a popular PC application to play audio, pictures and video that is available now for free in in Google Play ready to be run in Android devices.
Developers have include all the the Pro version goodies in the latest update of this free beta version that features:
- VideoLan VLC remote control from phone or tablet provinding usual functions such as play, play, pause, stop, volumen, full screen, change videos, music, DVD menu, audio channel selection, subtitles, etc.
- Stream from Android to PC/Mac (video, music, pictures)
- Video subtitles support.
To configure your VLC in your mobile, first you have to download and run a script (only Windows) located in the VLC website http://www.vlcdirect.com. That is actually the only blemish in the app and the fact that it seems to be in constant beta version status.
* Remote control your desktop VLC™ from your Phone/Tablet (play, pause, stop, volume, fullscreen, change video/song, dvd menu control, change audio tracks, change subtitle tracks, etc.)
* Streaming from Android to Computer (Video, music and photos)
* Its internal video player allows streaming content from the Computer to Android (Video, music and photos)
* Subtitles supported

To configure VLC™ in your PC/Mac, just download and run the following script in your PC (only windows):
(Remember running it as administrator the first time: Right click on it and then "Run as Administrator")
Windows will ask you permission to make changes in the installation folder and allow VLC™ to access the network. Those actions are necessary for proper function, please allow them.
What does the script do?
Basically, It starts VLC™ with its web interface enabled, and passes it some parameters to improve codec finding and rtsp streaming performance.

supported formats: avi, flv, mp4, mp3, mkv, wmv, jpg, mpeg, mpg, rmvb, m4v, mov, 3gp, ts, vob. (Some videos in these formats might not work because sometimes PC/Mac VLC™ can't transcode them into an android supported format -mp4 or 3gp-)

it says the content cannot be found....is it not there anymore?
Like so much of VLC, there is nothing intuitive about setting up this program. And because of that, when it fails to set up correctly, it's incredibly difficult to figure out what went wrong. I mean, what 2015 program requires setup with a ".bat" file? And OMG, trying to set it up on a MAC is even MORE confusing. Whether it connects or not seems to be a bit random. And why can't the "Help" files e
I am properly connected to my computer. I can stream files if the output is vlc in the computer but I can't view videos in android. It says it's buffering and the bar in the bottom is moving.
