3DRX Facet Joint Syndrome

The facet joints are the articulations that are formed between the touching vertebrae in the spine. There are two facets at each spinal level and they are located behind the disc and immediately behind the hole where exiting nerve root emerges from the spine. They are the number one cause of low back and neck pain and are often overlooked and mis-diagnosed. These complicated and highly innervated joints enable the bending or twisting movements of the spine. Due to the high demand we place on this area of our body these joints can often get inflamed secondary to injury or arthritis and cause pain and stiffness.
