iSOS is an Android application that allows you to send a SOS to a relative, friend or emergency contact just by tapping on the screen and some other features.
The app can call a contact, send a sms or mail, indicating the position and even start a sound alert in case of danger of some type. In Emergency numbers there's a list of useful numbers such as emergency, fire fighters, law enforcement, rape hotline, child missing and many others. There's also a Gestures section which contains information about what you should do in case of an emergency and the possibility of saving a health file. In addition, you can find a hospital, a dentist and a pharmacy. All this can be change in settings, where you can write the text messages and select the contacts you would send it to and call.
This is an extremely useful application for those with a delicate health and for all kind of emergency situations. Some of the features don't work depending on the location but in general it's a really helpful and complete application that everyone should download just in case. Its usability is excellent and the app works well and quickly, given its nature. Xavier BELLENGER is the developer of iSOS, his first application and one that's worth it.
The app gives useful info to emergency services in order to help you faster if needed.
iSOS allows you:
- To call a contact (close relation, help etc.) in case of an accident or in case of emergency.
- To send a SMS indicating your position to one or several contacts.
- To send an email indicating your position on a map to one or several contacts.
- To start a sound alert (whistle) in case of danger.
- To publish a SOS (emergency message) on your facebook wall
The application also allows you to find close to you or around an address:
- A defibrillator
- A doctor
- A pharmacy
- A hospital
- A dentist
The list of defibrillators maybe updated thanks to users' community of iSOS.
iSOS lists a list of useful numbers or emergencies(urgent matters) (Fire fighters, Domestic Violence etc.) as well as first-aid interventions to be made in the event of an accident (heart attack, bite or sting, fracture, burn etc.).
With iSOS, you also have the possibility of saving your health file to help the emergeny services to save you as fast as possible.
This application is perfect for:

Useless for France: the emergency numbers cannot be changed. Also, some of the instructions of what to do in an emergency are in English, some in French. There seems to be no way of changing this.

Changes necessary; doesn't seem to allow editing of emergency numbers... indicates 999 by default, plus UK freephones for other services...aids hotline, suicide hotline etc... should allow editing for other countries of residence. Otherwise a good app...
