This is a BETA version of the port of VLC media player to the Android™ platform. It plays both audio and video.

It is intended for everyone, but this version is not perfectly stable.

Use it at your own risk. Have fun! :)

VLC for Android™ plays most local video and audio files, as well as network streams (including adaptive streaming), DVD ISOs, like the desktop version of VLC.
VLC for Android has a media library for audio and video files, and allows to browse folders directly.

VLC has support for multi-track audio and subtitles. It supports auto-rotation, aspect-ratio adjustments and gestures to control volume and brightness.
It also includes a widget for audio control, supports audio headsets control, cover art and a complete audio media library.

So often are the phones with physical home keys forgotten about. I downloaded this because it has a lock feature, so I can hand it to a toddler without them turning it off or changing it. Wrong. My s5 Active has physical home/back keys and are immune to the lock feature, apparently. Fix that and I'll give 5.

UPDATE: I use VLC media player with Chromecast screen cast and it works great. I wish they would get Chromecast support for this app tho.

Some good ideas (gestures) but globally vlc on Android feels like it's not finalized. The most critical bug being that it's not possible to seek or forward videos over http or dlna
