WUST AM 1120, New World Radio is the Multicultural Voice of the Nations Capital Featuring programs broadcast in the Spanish, Amharic, Oromo, Tigrinya, French, and Yoruba Languages. WUST also features the longest running Irish and Jewish programs in the Washington DC Area.
New World Radio Group owns radio stations on the east coast of the United States. The company was founded in 1992 with the acquisition of WUST – AM 1120, licensed to Washington, DC. Over the years, as the company grew, other stations were added in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Northern Virginia.
The formats of the stations have always focused on international programming. In Washington, we have two stations—WUST broadcasting in many languages and WCRW broadcasting China Radio International in English. Our station in Philadelphia also carries CRI programming featuring news, current affairs, and features on politics, the economy, culture, science and technology.
