Dapple is a different kind of musical instrument, with several experimental ideas at work all in the small space of your smartphone or tablet.
A simple pitch matrix combined with clusters of notes and a rich palette of musical timbres provide a way to easily create complex atonal results.
With Dapple, you can:
*Access over one hundred instruments.
*Play over a range of seven octaves.
*Select musical timbres from the color palette.
*Swipe to create elongated patterns of sound.
*Tap to play a short phrase or "phraselet".
*Vary the tempo using red tempo blocks.
*Tilt to move sounds in stereo from left to right.
*Play from collections of tempos, chords, and phraselets.
Your sounds will flow in stereo with headphones as you tilt the screen left and right. Dapple will quickly have you searching for even more indescribable sounds and musical patterns.
Is it art? Is it music? We're not sure, but it sure is a fun instrument to play. We're just getting started...please post your suggestions and ideas.
Devices with larger screens supporting pressure-sensitive touch and orientation sensing, and listening with a good pair of headphones will give the best results.

Needs more variations. Works as indicated though on my Nexus 4. Pro version scales make it more 'musical' and worth the price. This app is the basis of a good looper, just needs a few more features like BPM, loop not fade, set key, clear pattern(s), and z

...definitely not what I was looking for. I was hoping to make soundscapes - because the app is called a soundscape maker but...it's not that at all. Good app but definitely not for me.

cool app, good interface. I had some issues after an update and the developer was quick and friendly. the app works great on my (low spec) Samsung galaxy gio, not the fastest phone around. thank you!
