Gigbeat - Concerts
500,000 - 1,000,000 downloads
- Great database of tour artist
- Last.fm and Songkick.com integration
- Too sober layout
- Lack of options
Gigbeat tracks your device's music and shows you nearby concerts of your favorite artists
We have to recognize that this app is a great idea. It tracks the music stored on your device in order to find your favorite artist and then show you their tours. This way you can see when they're playing close to your city not to miss a concert. It will even notify you breaking news and any change on your favorite artists tours. If you don't have any music on your device, because you prefer to listen to it from the cloud, there's no problem: Gigbeat supports SongKick and Last.fm accounts, what means that it will sync your playlist and bookmarks from these resources. The only flaw is that if you don't have an account on these resources and you're using other cloud music services, Gigbeat will do little. In order to fully enjoy this app we recommend you to create an account on Songkick.com. Besides sync music you will be able to purcharse concert tickets from there.
Gigbeat's layout is quite simple: set in a black background and four pink tabs: artist, events, location and Mygigs. There's a search bar to find tour of any artist. Its simplicity makes it easy to get the hang of it in a few seconds. However, it would be good if they improved the layout and the amount of customization options.
Despite of that Gigbeat is a great idea that works pretty well (bear in mind that its database is constantly increasing). Developers: great job. Reccomendable.
GigBeat scans your device's music library, shows you when your favorite artists are on tour and where they will be. Don't have any music stored on your device? That's not a problem, GigBeat offers support for Songkick, Last.fm and Rdio accounts so users can login and sync their artists from these services!
GigBeat will also remind you when a concert you've starred is coming up, or notify you when it finds new tour dates in your area for artists you are tracking.
GigBeat is currently fully supported on Android phones running version 2.1 or higher and is compatible with Honeycomb tablets, but a more polished version for tablets is coming very soon.

Love the interface, the tracking by artists, venue, location, etc. Only reason not giving 5 stars is for 2 reasons (and quite possibly out of the developers' hands, but thought I'd state if possible future release can add these features): 1. Integratio
This hasn't received a single update since June 2012... Don't waste your time downloading an app that doesn't work on devices released in the past 3-years. Not to mention the obvious fact that the devs abandoned support for this app years ago now.
I scanned my device twice, and it really took a long time and when I started adding artists it crashed every time. Then I wanted to add them differently but there is no such option as add artists manually or something. I UNINSTALLED. Unless the bugs are f
This happened with another app called gigbox. They did a great job and went for so long doing exactly what I wanted. Now it seems like they've stopped supporting it again like they did with the other and you can't find bands or shows at all
Finally one that works! Thanks
