SPL Meter is a professional-grade sound level meter, also known as a decibel or dB meter, Android device. This is a faithful reproduction of all the characteristics and qualities found in a traditional analog SPL meter including the ballistics, ranges, filters, and decay rates. SPL Meter's filters and decay rates meet or exceed ANSI type 1.
Features -
Filters: ANSI A and C weighting filters are provided. Just flip the switch to select the filter. A weighting rolls off low frequencies fairly steeply, and also rolls off high frequencies. Think of this as a "speech" filter. C weighting rolls off low and high frequencies slightly, think of this a a "music" filter.
Decay: Flip the switch to choose ANSI Fast or Slow. Slow will give you a better average reading, while Fast will follow peaks better.
Ranges: Select 40dB to 120dB in 9 ranges. Whatever range is selected, this is the value at the 0dB mark on the meter.
Calibration: SPL Meter comes pre-calibrated for the typical Android built-in and headset mic, but you can adjust the cal if you have a professional, calibrated meter to compare it to.
To adjust the calibration of your meter, follow these steps:
Set you reference meter to the same settings as SPL Meter (choose C and Slow, for example, on both meters)
Play pink noise or white noise through your system to get a reading on your reference meter in the range of 70-85dB
Go to the settings page on SPL Meter (touch the “wrench” in the upper right hand corner)
Select the correct mic setting (normally Internal)
Adjust the Trim field using the + and - buttons until the dB field matches the reading on your reference meter

Has calibration, but also a tiny display
Has calibration option. Wish it would be able to resize to maximize use of display. I can barely make out the numbers on my EVO 3D.

Awesome and very useful!
Great app, and extremely useful for helping to align and calibrate speaker systems. 4 stars for now but will definitely be a 5 Star app if there is an option to rotate the display so the mic is pointing towards the source. At pres
