ABC7/WJLA on your mobile device is four apps in one, and a terrific one-stop for local news from the Washington D.C. region. If you’re looking for news on your community, up-to-date weather or current conditions on the area’s rails and roads, this app is for you.

KEY FEATURES:

★ Live streaming news broadcast right to your mobile device. Tap the “Watch Live” button to the right of the ABC7/WJLA logo to access the live broadcast feed.

★ Support for four types of push notifications. Users can enable/disable each type individually via the Preferences menu item. The complete text of the last (unexpired) pushed notification is always downloaded for in-app viewing. When enabled, access the current notification by tapping the “Alert” button that appears to the left of the ABC7/WJLA logo.

▪ Indexes for humidity, air quality, UV, pollen, and flu
▪ Doppler radar, weather blog, and National Weather Service alerts
▪ Weather blog articles can be saved, shared, and dynamically resized, just like news articles

▪ Metro rail status, alerts and next-train information for any station
▪ Built-in Metro map, list of stations, and nearby stations
▪ Access to your favorite stations, including street-level mapping

★ Traffic
▪ Live color-coded traffic map of the Washington D.C.-area with incident or construction overlays
▪ Access to specific area details including color-coded road traffic speeds, traffic camera images, incident reports, road closings, and highway construction
▪ Optionally display traffic camera overlays on the map

▪ Additional news feeds for Sports, Entertainment, Transportation, and School/Business Closings
▪ Access your saved articles, available offline at any time
▪ Submit a News Tip to WJLA.com, including an optional image or video taken right from your mobile device

    Downloaded this app months ago however when videos recently stopped playing, I deleted app and reinstalled it. Now videos play. *smh* Go figure.
