The Guardian is an Android app that enables users to read all the information from guardian.co.uk directly in their devices. Besides reading, the news you can also watch videos, listen to podcasts and browse through the picture galleries.
You can navigate through the sections, topics and contributors, choosing a maximum of eight to appear on your the main screen (e.g Top Stories, Multimedia, Sport, Culture, etc). It's also possible to download the content and add some news to your favorite lists in order to be able to read them while you're offline.

Guardian News & Media Ltd is the developer of this first app for accessing to all the info from The Guardian. The app is easy to use, the usability design is pretty good and it works smoothly. It's a great app for fans of the website and the newspaper, because now they can read it quicker directly from their phones.

    Great app, love the layout, clarity, writing etc, but the damned thing is so unreliable in that some times it downloads stuff for off-line reading and other times it's unable to retrieve whole sections and often, multiple sections!! I've had enough and I'll get my news somewhere more reliable. Shame...

    I love being able to read the Guardian on my phone. The paper, in case people didn't know, is one of the few major newspapers in the world not owned by a corporate conglomerate or a state. It's owned by a trust which secures independent funding. It's little wonder that the content is so independent. The only thing missing is a night mode.

    Once upon a time they had a usable app. Now, mid-2014, it's almost possible to read the newspaper. It's like being locked in a maze. Yuk!

    After you launch the app, read all the news, close the app, about 5 mins later the phone status bar shows the guardian app downloading all the news & various other articles. This is with all offline features disabled by me .I never asked for all the sports, gossip, etc to be downloaded, in fact I have no interest in them. Plus the news articles rarerly update, 2 days later the same articles are o
