For being in idle 99.9% of the time this app uses a ton of data in the GB range

I hardly read the print version at home anymore, but I may go back. Lots of problems with the digital version on my Galaxy Note 2014. Can't get latest content as it won't refresh, etc.

I just deleted. I want to read the news. Why will they ever need access to my contacts or my calls. Enough already.

I have a digital subscription, and still the app show ads at the bottom. NYTimes app doesn't have this annoyance.

Pros: It really works very well on my Samsung Galaxy S4. It has performed reliably and the price is fair. Needed: One feature I would like to see included is a comments section for each article. While there are a lot of trolls around, I enjoy reading feedback, elaborations and corrections from sincere readers. CONS: I am very unhappy about the far reaching permissions this app currently requires,

Pros: Love the simplicity of it. Easy to use. Happy with the content. Subscription also allows me to read the website. Now for the Cons: Battery hog. My phone constantly pops up an alert informing me that Wapo is consuming abnormal amounts of juice, and has me force close it. And lastly, I like the new update, but miss the classic font. Maybe add an option for style preference? :)

All the great stuff from WaPo, as long as long you don't mind getting old news. App no longer updates or refreshes, and often must be forced closed to get it to respond to commands. Also, Capital Weather Gang does not update at all. And I am a print subscriber.
