The new update has fixed the crashes I got constantly in the previous versions; however, it's really annoying that you get moved back up to the first story in the list after you hit the Back key. I don't use this app as much as I used to because of that new "feature".

The Sept release has totally crippled the app. Before the update, had access to news group by topic (sports, auto etc), now all you get is an unsorted list of the most recent stories. 75% of the auto and sports reports do not even make it into the app. I'm not sure who decides what the app displays, but 2 days later and I'm already tired of reading murder, drug bust, car accident stories just t

Constant crashes. W/in each section stories are not in chronological order, app does not contain all the paper's stories, going back a screen puts you back at top - can't keep your place, crashes very frequently

Have to subscibe? The detroit news is free! All you get is top stories. Uninstalling and back to the news.

Getting worse with each release. Now it's more difficult to switch news categories & there is an annoying reset that occurs in the news category. Seems every time the app refreshes, it takes you back to the top of the story list. Irritating...

I updated the Free Press site yesterday and I can't seem to access the entire site (Sports, Auto, Business, etc.) as in the old site. What has happened. All I see is 'Top Stories'.

Much better than the previous app. However, when finished reading a story and press "back", why does the main screen automatically scroll to the top of the main screen, effectively losing my place in the story list?

At least I am not seeing the same story under multiple sections. If you really want to see how this is done right, check out the Washington Post. Looks good on my Samsung S4 and Nook e - reader!
