News Republic feeds from a lot of quality sources to bring you the breaking news no matter what their topic are. Its UI is quite nice and very use to use. If it wasn't easy enough, there's a video tutorial.
The strongest point of this app is its capacity for creating new widgets as news channels. The news articles are sorted by categories and you can follow as many topics as you wish. It doesn't matter what your topics of interest are, you can find whatever interests you. Of course, any story can be shared via Facebook, Twitter or mail.
To end with, we're just willing to say that this app is one of the best news feeders out there, if not the best. Look for an empty space on your desktop and save it for your fully customized news widget.

I cannot even compare it to the second best (Google Currents). And Google Currents is pretty good. But this is sooooooo much better. Beautiful screens, intuitive design, customizable categories, and free. What more can anyone ask for!

I love the app but I continually get a message saying unfortunately news Republic has stopped working.

Horrible update to widget, which is mainly how I this once awesome app. The list-view widget that was available is now complicated and hard to view. From nice simple text to big images with hard to read headlines. Please bring back the older list view w
