"Apply effects with your finger"

Reviewed by: Emmanuel Lund / May 24, 2012

Color Touch Effects allows you to edit photos by swiping your fingertip

The easiest way to edit your photos at your whim: using your own fingertips to apply filters and draw over pictures.

First off, you need to pick a photo to get started. You can take it from gallery, using your camera or from Facebook (this requires allowing access to the app). Whichever way you choose, you'll get to CTE dashboard. By default the photo is black & white. Select "Paint" from the top bar and "Original" from the bottom bar and start swiping over the photo. Every tracing will bring back the color. This way you can draw a few parts of the photo, making that stunning effect B&W/Color.

What's more, you can select other effects from the bottom bar: there are over 15 different effects. Once selected, go back to paint and then select "effect" from the bottom bar. Then apply the effect just by drawing over the photo. You can also apply the effect to the whole picture. Likewise, you can adjust the opacity and the brush size. Pinch to zoom. Finally, you can add captions to your pictures (top and bottom captions) and once your creation is done, share it by using any of the sharing resources installed in your device (Facebook, Twitter, MMS...).

In a nutshell, Color Touch Effects is a simple and cute photo edition app. It brings effects, brushes and captions, and it is set in a good-looking layout. The main flaw: even adjusting brush size, it's a bit difficult to paint edges. We're missing an auto-crop feature or something similar to fix that. Despite of this, the app is recommendable.
