The Liferay 2012 event app allows you to keep up with the latest and greatest activities at Liferay's worldwide Symposiums. Built on the Liferay Platform, use this powerful tool to plan which sessions you'd like to attend ahead of time, read up on our Symposium presenters and the cool things they've done in the industry, and acquire other attendee contact information as you network. This app will also help you explore the city, from the best places to shop to the finest dining San Francisco has to offer.
The detailed agenda allows you to peruse the sessions and their times, along with speaker and session information, and quick links for finding out where the sessions are held. You can even rate individual events in realtime, and take notes during the session using the included note area.
The Contacts screen allows you to keep track of your networking contacts you make at the symposium. You can manage the list through adding and deleting, and export your contacts to your Android device's contacts list. Each attendee has a special code printed on their namebadge - to collect their contacting information, simply click on the scan button and scan their code with your Android device - their information is automatically added!
The Maps area shows you points of interest at or near the event venue, along with handy internal maps showing room layouts and locations. Convenient buttons are provided to allow you to map the location using Android's built-in mapping functions.
Activities shows you events happening during the Symposiums, such as after-parties, BoF sessions, or other community events.
The Gallery allows attendees to share their photos from the event - you can peruse past and present events, and even upload your own photos by clicking the Library or Camera button.
Finally, the Pavilion area provides links to sponsors and exhibitors at the symposium - quickly find out which other companies are attending.
Check the app often for new updates - give your Android device a shake - it'll refresh event data!

New Feature: Ability to export contacts using a tab-separated text file attachment in an email, or copying all contacts to the clipboard. Date of scan is included as of 1.4.
Bugfix: Agenda page with multiple rotating speaker headshots no longer interfere with other agenda pages.
Bugfix: Removed hard requirement for landscape mode on Android platform (this prevented the app from installing on older 2.2-based devices).
