NOTE: If you are using other SMS related app (like Go SMS), make sure that this app is installed/updated first. Only the first sms app to install can block sms.
No Spam Sms is totally free and has no adds or any such nags. The application has only the bare minimum which is require and optimized to its best. Requires only the permissions needed to get the job done.
Permissions explained:
RECEIVE_SMS: to check if sms is spam
READ_CONTACTS: to check if sender of sms is in contacts
WRITE_SMS: for the option to move blocked sms to inbox
READ_SMS: to check for duplicate sms
Answers to queries:
Q: Does this work with sms gateways? Sms sent through sms gateway doesn't have numbers.
A: Yes it does. doesn’t matter if the sms has a number or just gateway text.

I was using the Postman app for a long time now for the same purpose. And though the advts don't bother me so much, I had a long time wish that it showed msg previews in notification, which your app does. Many thanks :)

Update 11/21 : Completely uninstalled all GO SMS items and cleared all GO SMS data. Rebooted phone. Installed "No Spam Sms" again and it seems to be stopping duplicates now using the default Android sms app. Send developer an email. Really wish this wo
