An innovative keyboard with a disrupting text input system

    "Typing times are over"

Swype was probably the first keyboard replacement that challenged the traditional typing (tapping) text input system on mobile devices. Afterwards, some copied that new system based on drawing path from one letter to the next.

You can now enjoy at a cost this excellent keyboard that enables users to choose among 4 different text input systems: Swype, speak, write and tap. Of course, swiping is the basis. Use your fingertips to draw a path from letter to letter until you've formed the word. This system is, obviously, backed by a powerful and accurate prediction engine that helps the user get the right word faster (it even learns from your swiping style). It requires some time to get used to it, however, once the user advances through the learning curve, it becomes one of the fastest text input systems

Besides swiping, users can also input text with their voice thanks to its accurate speech-to-text technology. Write is another input system that Swype keyboards come with: use your finger to draw letters and words (gestures) and Swype will turn them into text. Finally, like other keyboard replacements (and the built-in Android keyboard), you can text by tapping letters, the classic way but, making the most of Swype's prediction engine.

Good keyboard. I realized that I really can't live without a keyboard with gesture typing. Google Keyboard is just a mess of crashes. So I'll use this one. I just think it's a little funny to pay 99cents for the app, just to have the ability to use the keyboard and pay more for themes, though. The keyboard itself works though.

My favorite feature, capitalization, was removed. It was so nice when drawing outside the box capitalized a letter. Used to be able to draw to the period and contract 'll or 's, that doesn't work so well anymore. This was great, but has gone downhill as of late.

Swype is getting worse and worse. It just looses features (swipe punctuation and capitalization, nav keys) without any improvements. I have Swype preloaded on my old Atrix 2, and that ancient version (though being a beta) is much, much faster and more accurate and more functional than the current one. I just don't bother with it anymore and use gboard instead.

This update is awful. It only functions at the most basic level in webpage text fields in Chrome, being unable to go back and change words except immediately after writing them. At the same time word recognition has become abysmal. I'm keeping trails on and building a screenshot library of the various words Swype is missing, especially where it suggests complicated words with letters that are nowhere near what was Swyped, while missing entirely simpler words whose letters are all in the other words offered. Swyping above the keyboard to capitalize letters no longer works unless that word that was capitalized happened to already be capitalized in the dictionary. Either click the shift key beforehand or go back and fix the word afterwards. I would not recommend anyone update to this version or buy this app, and I'm about to switch back to Google's offering or try other alternatives.

When I log my weight in Google fit, the numeric keyboard is the only keyboard that comes up, but Google fit uses a comma as a decimal separator and not a period. Can a comma be added to the numeric keyboard?

Great keyboard except you can't hold down the back button to delete a sentence. Fix this for 5 stars.
