[12th July 14] All engines are known to be incompatible with Android L. Once updated to Android L, please clear the app data or remove and reinstall app to get latest engines.
[4th July 14] We have rebuilt x86 tools. It should now work with most devices with Intel Atom CPU.
[6th June 14] We have updated the packages to the latest. Due to changes in package structure, you will need to either reinstall the app completely or delete the TeX directories (there is now button [Open] to to open the TeX installation folder but you will need file explorer such as [ES File explorer] to use), kill the app and then reinstall the packages.

TeXPortal is a TeX/LaTeX/ConTeXt compiler for Android, supporting major TeX engines such as TeX, pdfTeX, XeTeX, LuaTeX, BibTeX, etc. TeXPortal automatically fixes common TeX issues such as missing packages to save you time.

To compile sample ConTeXt document from Wikipedia ( (i) install package [context], (ii) reload context fonts, (iii) compile with ConTeXt. For sample XeLaTeX document from Wikipedia: (i) install package [xetex libertine], (ii) compile with XeLaTeX, (iii) generate font cache, (iv) compile again.

    TeXPortal is essentially a fully functional TeX installation on your device. Think of it as MikTeX or similar, except easier to use, and on your phone or tablet. Along with Texpert for editing and previewing, this is one of the three or so apps that is absolutely mandatory if you write math and own an android. It downloads packages from ctan automatically. So far I have not managed to find a
