Transparent Screen use your camera to make your screen transparent

Thanks to this app you won't be afraid no more when you walk through the streets while looking at your Android device. You'll be able to text, tweet, whatsapp, play games or even surf the web from your phone without falling in a manhole. Come on, don't be scared anymore to send messages while you're running through a minefield.

Transparent Screen uses your back camera to display a semi-transparent layout that shows what it catch. You can set transparency level from settings. What's more, you can set resolution (although this is still beta), enable/disable rotate camera image, automatic start on startup or stop it if display goes off (these last two option only available in the paid version).

This is an original and really useful app and we have to congratulate Sascha Affolter, its developer, for it. The only catches we've noticed is the high battery draining and the lag. Since it's an app that aims to be constantly running, it should be enhanced in this regard. The developer says he's working on it. About lag, it depends on the device resolution and the use of transparency. Better if resolution is higher, of course. We appreciate the developer's FAQ in the description, specially regarding meaning of permissions the apps asks for starting installation.

Developer's original description available here
Transparent Screen gives you the opportunity to use your phone as usual, while being able to see the live image of your camera transparently on the entire screen.
You'll be able to walk and text at the same time and actually use any App you desire, while Transparent Screen is running.

The original Transparent Screen is the best and was the first App of its kind.. Don't get fooled by others ;)

FAQ:
- Why is the App requesting the permission "DISPLAY SYSTEM-LEVEL ALERTS"?
This permission allows me to show the image of the camera, while you're able to use the phone as usual.

- Why is the permission "INTERNET" necessary?
To display ads, it's needed to request those permissions. If you don't like to have ads or this kind of permission requests, you can purchase the PRO version.

- Does it effect the battery draining?
Yes, it needs some more resources. But I'm trying to keep it as low as I'm able to ;)

- Why is it a bit laggy?
I'm not able to prevent that! It's due to the use of transparency. But it is stable enough on most phones and lowest resolution, to do what it's intended to do.

- Does my phone need to be rooted?
NO!

Doesn't work as well as the images imply. Don't expect futuristic results. Very cool idea, needs some work. Doesn't account for phone's distance from face. Doesn't account for anything really. Just puts a live feed from your camera as an active wallpaper.
