This e-book is an outgrowth of materials assembled for a Research Methods and Statistics graduate business course and is designed to introduce and apply analytic methods to business and engineering problems. The book (and the course) has evolved over time toward a more pragmatic, "how to" approach and continues to change to meet current business and research methods. Topics discussed include: reading and writing good research papers, bibliographic and citation tools, modes of thinking, research ethics, descriptive, inferential and predictive statistics, exploratory data analysis, experimental design and a cursory introduction to modern statistical data analysis tools and techniques. The material is aimed at graduate and upper undergraduate students in business and social sciences.
