"A handmade world made by the people"

Reviewed by / Dec 28, 2012

Etsy is an alternative market app for selling/buying handmade items of any kind

An original app that, according to their developers, claims to "empower people to change the way the global economy works". Etsy focuses on markets made up by small business and individuals. Customers can change how the the world works if there are enough alternative platforms to choose among. Etsy is one of those platforms.

Etsy has already over 17 millions unique items from over 800K sellers around the world (to date). It's set in a cute and neat interface that ensures an intuitive navigation through nine different categories: handpicked, seasonal, for her, for him, gadgets, home, kids, supplies and weddings. You can find both new and used articles, although most of them are new handcrafted ones. Exclusivity's guaranteed.

Every item has attached pic(s), item price, description, seller info and love button. You can add to cart from the item page and then proceed to check out. Shipping costs and regions are detailed too in the description. Likewise, you can share any item through any of the compatible sharing resources installed on your device.

The idea is original, the app runs smoothly and the items you can find there are in most cases worth enough to give a glance. Highly recommended

There's a lot of great things but the price for some items is ridiculous plus postage took expensive

I love looking for Pokemon items and I didn't know there was an app for a long time. Now, I can find stuff better away from my computer.

I really miss getting suggestions of other etsy customers' favorites. I loved finding other people to 'follow' on etsy who had favorited things similar to things I like. I learned of shops to follow and expanded my understanding of the genres I collected! Please bring this feature back!
