ScanLife (aka "BIDI" in some countries) turns your camera phone into a all-in-one bar code reader to help you save money and get more information from products or ads.
Scan regular UPC/EAN barcodes from most products like DVDs, books, and food to launch a variety of information:
- Compare prices online and at local stores (if available)
- See product reviews
- Get related coupons and deals (if available)
- See accessories
- Get nutritional information for food products (US only)
You can even buy the product right from Amazon or over 25 other retailers. Great way to re-order existing products so you can shop at home!
Also scan any 2D barcode (QR Code, Datamatrix, EZcode) that you find in print, packaging, or business cards to launch specific websites, videos, or contact information. These codes can also launch a number of actions on the device like sending a pre-filled email or dialing a phone number (it will always ask you to confirm before taking any action).
You can view a Live Feed of scanning activity right from the app, and click on products to view the information.
Personalize your experience by choosing your own scanning theme from Classic to Fighter Jet.
Want to share what you're scanning? Just go to the history menu, to quickly send the content to your Facebook Wall or email to a specific contact.
You can also go to www.scanlife.com on your PC to create your own 2D (QR) codes for free that link to Facebook, Twitter, and more.
